Divorce

In a divorce there are many issues at play. If there are children involved, then there are issues of custody, access, child support and children’s special expenses (often called Section 7 expenses). Even without children there can still be many issues revolving around spousal support and property division of :

– debts (credit cards, lines of credit, debts to family and friends)
– the house and mortgage;
– investments;
– registered retirement savings plans (RRSPs);
– pensions (military, nurses, teachers, other government workers, etc.);
– business assets (like rental properties); and
– various other assets (such as motor vehicles, furniture, personal property, etc.)
